How come this bill doesn't all me (hetrosexual male) and my two wives (both bi-sexual) to be married? We have been together for 6 years, and wish to adopt and be recognized as a family. ALL studies show that a mother and father are best for a child, so we would be significantly better than two males or two females. This is plain and simply bigotry by the so-called progressives.

Why are they debating this? It is simple, all religions, whether Christian, Muslim, whatever, want to control everyone and push their will on all. It has been this way from the beginning of time, that's why we had the crusades, it why when the Muslim religion started, the Christians and Muslims fought for centuries and are still fighting. It is why all religions dislike the Jews. Religions, no matter which one, wants more power and does not want to give up any. They do this by making some groups sinners. In the middle ages it was claiming somebody was a witch. Then the pope wiped out the Knights Templar, today Christians have banded against the Gays, and guess what? If you read the history books, they are saying today about the gays what they said about the witches and other groups they have persecuted through out the centuries. Their statements were wrong then, they are wrong now.

@Johnmpls have you contacted your legislators to get a bill introduced? In the meantime, I hope you have taken steps in estate planning, because there still needs to be a big paradigm shift for people to get comfortable with people who are in open, consenting, equal, multiple relationships.

The religious always make it about religion. Marriage at the State level for financial reasons has nothing to do with religious marriage in the church. But don't tell that to someone who thinks being married makes them a better human. Religion is holding society back, and anyone still believing in God as a person should be considered mentally unevolved. your brain is stuck in 1600. Its 2013, get over yourselves.

I hope this passes. And remember: Just because gay marriage is legal, that doesn't mean YOU have to marry someone of the same sex as you...

I have a few gay friends that danced and celebrated at my wedding. I hope this passes so that my husband and I can dance and celebrate at theirs.
