A little uncustomary for the Twins to face a rookie for the first time and clean his clock. They have a habit of making a kid look pretty good. As for Gibson's nice start, that's nice, but let's keep in mind that Boston's phenom tonight had a nice outing in AAA his last time out. Great to do well at AAA, but it is still AAA.

Giving up 6 runs in 2 innings is epic fail. When's Sam Denudo coming up?

As I've been saying since before ST: this team has enough offense, defense, and a good enough bullpen to win a World Series. If only the starting pitching was or could be worthy of a pennant run. Diamond is 3-1 with a 2.13 ERA in his last four, which are legit ace type numbers, if he can continue to do what he's done over the past season plus a month. But after that...hopefully Gibson will get the call up after this stellar outing tonight, and then get Meyer up here by mid-June, and if Pelfrey can continue to improve or Harden can find his way back or TR could actually be a BUYER at the deadline...big ifs. But this much is clear: Had Terry Ryan NOT neglected this starting staff so badly over the past two off-seasons (and Worley and Correia will prove to be worthless acquisitions by season's end), this team might be able to make a run at a division title then a pennant. I don't care what anyone says, this team has enough in the other three categories to be a very, very good team. If only it could get its starting pitching sorted out once and for all. Why waste a year like this on "rebuilding"? There's no need. Just plug a couple guys in and keep the train going.

Ryan Doumit got robbed when that ball bounced out of the outfielder's glove and hit the wall. He deserved a 6/6. We should have had 1-2 extra runs. Umps did replay and still blew the call.

I would say if Gardy can get 85+ wins with this club, he is a shoo in for AL Manager of the Year. Nobody saw this coming.
