Liberals would be applauding this if it were proposed by a democrat.

This is not to benefit any workers, it's solely to benefit the employers so they don't have to pay time-and-a-half overtime pay. Sure, the employee has to "agree" to do it, but we all know how that will work out.

Another classic example of a good idea that will fail because the other side of the aisle thought of it first. Both sides do this and it is just plain stupid.

Nothing good ever comes out of government intervention in the private sector's employer/employee relationship. Butt out!

Hopefully teapublicans won't continue proposing this legislation as often as their 'Repeal Obamacare' drivel. They've been trying to pass this crappy legislation since the 90s and they've never come close. You'd think they'd be too busy, what with their Jobs Jobs Jobs agenda... not to mention BENGHAZI!!!!!

Will they get time and a half off? Or is this just a back door to saving money while working employees half to death?

As long as the workers get to decide if they collect OT pay or Comp Time AND the workers make the decision when to actually use the Comp Time I'm all in favor of this. I work over 500 hours of overtime every year and I could easily bank extra vacation hours!

"As long as the workers get to decide"... they don't... that's why republicans keep proposing it, and it always fails.

You have to admire the tenacity of the right. They are tireless in their effort to get what the average Joe has into the outstretched hands of industry titans.

The democrat senate will play partisan politics and block this just as they did the 12 jobs bills that Reid let die on his desk. the obstructionists are democrats.
