This team is playing with a lot more passion then the last two years, still a ways away, but I like the total team effort!

Diamond is the best pitcher on the club. By a mile.

Doumit. Monday. Grumble, grumble, grumble.

Anyone notice how good the starters are when Doumit is behind the plate? They don't seem to fall apart after 5 1/3 innings. And I like Mauer, but this is a startling trend....

As the "great Bert" says, it all starts with good starting pitching. Thought it several weeks ago, now convinced; Hicks is what was called in the old days, a "hot dog". Hitting less than his weight, can't seem to judge fly balls in front of him, that non-chalant attitude (who me, hustle?) should get him a trip back to New Britain.

Gardenhire should be fired for his petulant display in the dugout after Hicks' catch. Stay classy Ron, chewing out your rooks every chance you get, while maintaining an epic double standard by not calling out your vets when they gaffe.

When I read the headline I thought Mauer homered. Yeah, that was a silly thought wasn't it.

Gardenhires acting in the dugout and in front of the cameras when he got on Hicks was so overdone even Meryl Streep blushed.

Of course my observation may be skewed by the fact that Doumit is Diamonds catcher. Hmmm....The staff's best pitcher only pitches to the backup? Not unprecedented, but when the rep of the starting catcher is he handles a staff so well, and he doesn't catch the staff's best pitcher....seems a bit, off, maybe. And the bullpen is great with Mauer. But they only face each batter once. But you get to the third time through the lineup with Mauer and a starter, and things fall apart.
