As much as Kluwe and others would like to pin this on his political views the facts speak themselves Kluwe's production has slipped, His stats last season put him in the bottom half of the league. Key mistakes in games cost his team at a minimum important field position, and very likely at least one game. We lost the division by 1 game last year. He ignored his coaches, kept the ball in play when he had been told to kick it out of bounds. His compensation outweighed his production. I have very little respect for Chris Kluwe. You did not hear any of this crap from Longwell last year. Ryan went out like a man. Kluwe with a whimper and a finger pointed at everyone but himself.

The coaches probably believe every performance that is below expectations is due to Chris not being focused. Coaches don't like that so its easier to make him gone. My view is we lost a good player and citizen. The club and our State lose.

Fresh legs will be good for the Vikes since the punter has to punt every single series. Kluwe is lucky, maybe he will land somewhere where the team has a chance to win the Super Bowl!

It's not about controversy or performance. It's spelled $$$$$$$$

Dear Dan, let me tell you how a long suffering Vikings fan feels about this non story. We don't care. Not sure how you sold it to the sports editor to be a top three rotated on the front page widget but it's a huge miss for the web team. Run the kentucky derby instead it barely might have a stronger following. Kluwe story reeks of media bias, making mountain of mole hill. Nice try. Still don't care!

Vikings fans need to face some hard facts. The team has horrible coaches and the owners aren't any better. The team isn't going to win a playoff game anytime soon. Perhaps Kluwe had a bad season because the Vikings punt 45 times/game and he got tired. It's funny that the Vikings think a new punter will help. Keep crying into your beer Vikings fans. Better yet, get off the couch and go for a jog.

If Kluwe is as a good a punter as he thinks he is, the phone will start ringing immediately...(crickets)

"the facts speak themselves Kluwe's production has slipped" -- Kluwe did everything that was asked of him. They wanted him to not out kick the coverage and to instead kick for hang time, which doesn't exactly attract headlines, or Pro Bowl attention. Most players choose to pad their stats to help them at contract time. Kluwe put the team first, and ended up recording a career best net average. This move speaks poorly of Frazier... letting the juvenile pettiness of an inconsequential special teams coach outweigh what's best or the team. We'll see if the Kluwe haters stick by the rookie when he shanks a punt or botches a hold that costs the game. The smart money will bet that they're the first to boo the new guy. Kluwe's a class act in a league of prima donnas... and will be missed.

"""but Kluwe vowed to keep kicking and speaking his mind.""".............Well, then Kluwless will remain jobless. He was such a huge distraction last season likely no team is going to want the "activist genius punter." The biased media loved him only for his PC, but oft ignorant, opinions-->kind of an anti-Tebow. Yet, media please tell us how smart Kluwe is....when he just opined himself out of millions. We fans need the laugh! Adios Klewe, dont let the door hit you on the way out..................
