My prediction: The bill will pass both chambers this week and will be signed by Gov. Dayton next week! Minnesota will become the 11th state to legalize same-sex marriage and will not be looked down upon in the history books when SCOTUS strikes down all discriminatory state marriage laws come June!
We know this is going to happen. As much as I believe there is no such thing as gay marriage, I know the Dems are going to pass this thing. Probably 11th hour. But its vote buying. Typical Dem thing to do. The beauty of the Dems forcing the gay marriage on the majority of MN that don't want it is we'll vote them all out and the GOP will change it all back.
Hey...I thought you're suppose to be working on Jobs and the Economy....not social experimentation?
Thank you Dems...and come on GOP'er's...you represent gay and lesbian families too...this isn't about religion, it's about giving families the opportunity to memorialize their love for each other. If a church/synagogue/mosque don't want to marry same sex couples, they don't have to. Now is the time...be brave and vote on the side of history...because equality always trumps in the USA.
Those little girls have a point. Since implementing marriage equality several years ago, Iowa is tatally void of mommies and daddies, they're all gone now.
Let's do what's right and extend the freedom to marry the one you love to all our gay friends and family members. They don't deserve to be treated with fear and discrimination.
DOA--and that's a shame. Gay marriage advocates' attitudes have made far too many enemies, when making friends would have been far more profitable.
bannedmuggs--" The beauty of the Dems forcing the gay marriage on the majority of MN that don't want it"--Do you think that you are going to be forced into a gay marriage? I don't think that is what this is about.
bannedmuggs writes: The beauty of the Dems forcing the gay marriage on the majority of MN that don't want it is we'll vote them all out and the GOP will change it all back ... Oh really? Which GOP? The one that talks about putting God back into government or the one that keeps talking about getting government off people's backs? In fact, the party will split in two and the MN GOP will literally cannibalize itself.
If you don't support gay marriage, don't go to a gay wedding.
