Gabrielle Giffords received a Profile in Courage award this weekend at the John F. Kennedy Library in Boston. The award is fitting, though she is displaying a different kind of courage than was celebrated by the late president in his 1957 best-selling book.

Whatever. The liberals have no idea what they're doing. Give me one thing Gifford has done to further gun control. Nothing. She, Obama, and the Democrats grandstanded on all they were going to do to stop massacres and what came out of the grandstanding? Nothing! Everyone got mad because the bill that did nothing to stop anything was defeated. Giffords is an embarrassment as is president hope and change.

Ya know? I think sometimes that this kind of repeated nauseating propoganda actually makes some people secretly cheer for the shooters.

Gabby Gifford's fight to recover from a horrible crime is heroic. However, I find absolutely nothing heroic about her anti-gun crusade. If Gifford truly wanted to prevent future tragedies, her campaign would focus on the broken processes we have for handling mental illness in this country.

We're all glad that Gabby survived the attack by the nutcase, but she has done nothing to merit an award for courage.

Good that she pulled-trough and is doing well in rehab. But Courage??? Oh, please. If she had been a military person who got shot, she would have rated a Purple Heart, at best. This award is nothing but transparently sanctimonious grandstanding for feel-good, but do-nothing firearms-phobic legislation. Oh and hey Gabby, has your own husband given-up his personal AR-15 and all his other guns yet?

Let's take a look at Mitt Romney. A good/faithful spouse, good father, religious, successful in private and public endeavors, philantrophic. A first in bring forth his Mormon faith before the nation. An obvious role model for people to aspire. Why would he not be a candidate for a profile courage. Let's see, not a victim, Caucausion, a male, wealthy, conservative, etc. The manner in which these types of awards are given Chris Klowe would win before someone like Romney. By the way before the masses go ballistic over these remarks, this takes nothing away from Ms. Gifford. She deserves accelodes for her success. Conversely, does it surprise anyone on how scripted the criteria is for those we do and do not send accoleads.

I wonder why liberals didn't give Reagan a profiles in courage award after he was shot by a crazed gunman?

bannedmuggs - Whatever. The liberals have no idea what they're doing. Give me one thing Gifford has done to further gun control. Nothing. ---------- Well, she's got you righties seeing boogey men under the bed and monsters in your closets nationwide. But, come to think of it, that's really not that much of a feat after all. Paranoia is a genetic trait with the right.

jd55604 - I wonder why liberals didn't give Reagan a profiles in courage award after he was shot by a crazed gunman? ---------- Because compared to Giffords, Reagan wound was rather minor and the awards didn't start until 1990. See? No conspiracy there.
