A well deserved honor. (Congress should get a Profile in Cowardice award.)
It does not take courage to get shot.Just bad luck!
There is a lot of no name people who have done a hell of lot more than her. How come none of them ever win this award?
It's getting sickening seeing this lady being portrayed as a hero. She sure wasn't a hero when in congress and was another lifer sucking the blood out of the taxpayers with her liberal policies. If she really wants to be hero she should just be greatful she's alive and live her life out of the limelight.
Hers and other mass shootings are tragedies without question. However the Congress demonstrated extreme courage by voting against the reactionary gun control proposals. I would expect a higher level of decorum from our elected officials than demonstrated by her remarks. We have serious problems and it will take serious measures to address them.
Taking nothing away from what Gabby Gifford's has been through I'm wondering if the folks who gave her this award checked on any of the women soldiers lying in VA hospitals to see if they might be a candidate who's been thru more than Gabby. These women faced enemy gunfire or IED's on a daily basis? Of course the answer is most likely "no"...Gabby plays to well for political correctness. For me I'll visit the wounded in VA hospitals...their heroism in my opinion is every bit as heroic as Gabby's and they enlisted knowing they would be put in harms way. Gabby ran and got elected never giving a thought she may face gunfire. So I ask all the award committee...who's the greater hero?
Seems to be a lot of bitter people out this morning.
