Thank goodness that Israel is at least one country that has the courage to do something about the Syrian oppression! Meanwhile, Obama, Europe, and the UN stand idly by, wringing their hands and pretending to plan to do something at some vague time in the future. Obama drew the "red line" with respect to the Syrians' use of chemical weapons - now he says that he needs proof. Let's be honest, he will never verify that there is proof of the Syrian government's use of chemical weapons - and he will never take any action of any sort. He will continue to find all kinds of reasons to do nothing. Maybe, when his term expires, he can become the Secretary General of the United Nations, where he can follow the previous UN Secretary Generals' examples of doing nothing while country governments slaughter thousands of their citizens.
This is just too unreal; perhaps we can bring back the twilight zone TV show and this could be an episode? The Israelis say they did this to prevent the flow of arms to terrorist groups from Syria and they may have accomplished that, but in essence, they helped the rebels by attacking. Interesting when you consider who the rebels are. Second, this probably set "middle east peace" back another 50 years. Time for a national poll to find out what the American people think about Syria and Israel and then hope that some American politicians have the ability to study that poll.
Further, if Israel wants to get involved that is fine with me as long as we stay out of it. Haven't you had enough of wars of choice and quagmire? No, this one should be settled with intervention from Arab nations and/or Muslim groups. Let them blame each other, which I suspect is already happening. It is not our fight.
Thank goodness Obama isn't doing anything. It's not our problem. We are 16 trillion in debt. Get out of the ME period. You can't mix unmixable cultures. It's been proven for centuries. When do humans finally learn anything?
I'm not a fan of the Assads, but this is an area where I think Vladimir Putin is right. Why is the US backing islamists?! The Assads are Stalinists, true, but Stalinists are far better to deal with than islamists. The US is on the wrong side on this one, again. US Mid-East foreign policy has gotten downright scary, all throughout the muslim Middle East islamists have been gaining because of constant White House miscalculations. Is anyone out there planning a family vacation to Egypt soon? Me neither.
Thank God for Israel, they’re doing our job for us again. Just like they did our job for us with the Iraqi nuclear reactor back in 1981.
