I hope Obama has enough sense to stay out of this conflict. There aren't any good guys on either side of this one. Even suggesting giving arms to the rebels is foolish with their links to Hezbollah and Al Qaida. Assad is a tyrant, but this is a lose-lose situation for the U.S.
When Obama says he can't foresee a situation using U.S. ground troops it means he is preparing the country to do just that. There isn't a war that Obama has not favored since he took office. We are involved in Afghanistan, Somalia, Pakistan, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Mali, and soon Iran? Talk about a war monger.
Ah yes.... an anonymous release of "facts" and the minute I read that, I just don't believe a word that comes after it. Sure, it may be true, but are you willing to go to war or attack another nation on an anonymous insider? We did that once... and never should again.
PS.... want to know what the chances for middle east peace are after Israel did this latest act? And I am not totally blaming Israel. Where are the Arab and Muslim nations? It is complicated. Let's just hope that our hawkish politicians in the USA don't get their way (McCain and Graham) and we sit this one out. We can't win..... no matter what side wins there.
What I wonder is why did Obama even talk about "RED LINES" in Syria? Seems like all he has done is further damage US credibility.
I can't believe a person could hang a "war monger" tag on Obama. So far he as had the good sense to stay out of a state of war. Rightly or wrongly he has had to take a stand on some potentially volatile situations. I don't favor all the good things we do for Israel; however, they may do some military interventions for us.
Five more U.S. soldiers died today in southern Afghanistan. For what? What business do we have killing people at random in Yemen and Pakistan with these drones that kill civilians 90 to 95% of the time. Also we bombed Libya.
So what war has he had the good sense to stay out of? Iran is next. I say war monger.
I don't get it... twist it around much? The red lines were first brought up, by Israel, not Obama. We bombed Libya under Reagan's administration if I remember right and correct me if I am wrong.... he was a republican. And credibility??? Let's see, we bombed Libya, and has that stopped any of the violence in this part of the world or has it made any of these nations like the USA any more? And who started the Afghanistan thing? and the Iraq thing? It wasn't Obama.... He listened to his military leaders and came up with the plans to leave both countries safely and with minimal losses... and that continues today. I don't know how old some of you are, but do you remember the way we left Vietnam? The word fiasco doesn't do it justice.... No, calling Obama a war monger is the biggest lie I have heard in a long long time; no use sugar coating this one to appease a fox news supporter. I suggest a few of you get your own house in order about Syria and the positions of McCain and Graham, if you want to start talking war mongers.... You might want to consult with Dick Cheney as well..
