$200,000 to influence consumer choices? Now, I am the first to say that bottled water is ridiculous and the use of it should be curbed, but this is a BLANTANT example of TOO MUCH GOVERNMENT! Don't take our money and spend it like this!

why don't we put money towards teaching the values of recycling because that too would cut down on the "waste" these bottles (along with every other plastic product) produce.

I'm so glad to hear that Mayor Rybak has solved all of the city's problems -- especially crime and high taxes. What a relief! Now he's got plenty of time -- and money -- to monitor what we eat and drink. Hooray!

I don't have issues drinking tap water, b-u-t; I do buy bottled water because I work in St. Louis Park and I don't know about you, but this is the worst water I have ever tasted in any city and not to mention it stinks, so I will continue to buy bottled water just for this purpose.

Typical, rather than produce a competive product the Government will try to coerce you to use their product and waste your hard earned tax money in the process.

The enviro tpes drive me nuts, but this makes sense. Why are the taxpayes buying bottled water? But then why are the taxpayers paying to promote RT's newest cause? He is such a fundamentalist.

Until they stop dumping raw sewage and lord knows what else into the Mississippi river (Minneapolis water source), I will continue to "waste" my money on bottled water. Not to mention my house is 100+ years old with dirty nasty pipes, who wants to drink that??

Mr. Rybak, why not concentrate on the things local governments were designed to handle; you know....law and order, streets etc. and leave the "save the world" liberal stuff for the thousands of activists you have living in your fifedom. It should anger every tax payer in Minneapolis (no, statewide since we help prop up the city) that the modern day spendocrat clown treats "public service" like a group of would-be college students in some club.
