Ask Amy: Parents don't want to pay for wedding

Dear Amy: My daughter had a child out of wedlock four years ago. My wife and I have supported them both emotionally and financially and by baby-sitting the child.

I would never ask my parents to pay for my wedding. If they want to help it should be up to them but bride and groom should be responsible

Because you funded her education,does that mean she owes it to have a specific name? Whats most important is what she holds dear, is it important for her to have her spouses last name or to hyphenate or not change etc. In the end what makes her happy is the right choice.
