How about sitting Butch and playing Dowell, at least he doesn't play scared and can score on occasion? Stoner sitting out just raised our chances in this series dramatically. Nice guy, bad d man.

The success of this team will depend on the 2,3 lines getting points. If they produce, the team will continue to have games to play in. No production, it will be over very quickly.

Spurg blocked 7 of the Wild's 21 shots? ...I don't think that's a good thing.

Watching game 1, it was clear that the Wild is over-matched here. The Blackhawks were constantly looking for the long break out pass and for shots on goal. The Wild, just as they have all year, was content to dump and chase. Shots on goal result in goals. Bad rebounds and bad hops can be a result sometimes. Attack the net!

If Harding stands on his head like he did the other night, it will be a close game; if not, the Wild doesn't have a chance. As much as I like the Wild for many reasons (although the Hawks are my favorite team), they just can't compete on all four lines. The Hawks are solid throughout. Their passing is tape-to-tape, and their D men are not afraid of charging. Harding and the fact that the Hawks were lethargic for the first 2-1/2 periods were the only reasons why it was close. I predict 4-1 Hawks. I'm OK if I'm wrong because the Wild is the only team I've no problem with the Hawks losing to.
