Partner exercise routines can be more fun than going it alone.

The author hints at "circuit training" and this is a very effective practise. You can use machines, free weight reps or calisthenics. These are done fast without time for the heart and body to slow or cool down. As far as couple motivation--it is also called the "buddy system" and it is used all of the time in most gyms. Call it what you may---the most important thing is MOVE! Try the four "F"s of training: Form, frequency, Full range of motion, and the last I will call flexibility (some say Failure). These will lead to proper training.
