Flip had this team in the post-season 8 of 9 years he coached here, then somebody panicked and he was out.

1st the Wolves weren't horriblely over the cap when Kahn came in. Next they already had 2 1st rounders before they trade Jefferson for nothing. 3 Kahn didn't make any bad picks? What? 1 of 7 is not good, in fact that is worse than Mchale. Also Mchale at least had the stones to coach his own team and they weren't as bad when he was coaching them. 2 of the 3 best players on the team are Mchale's Pek and Love, so yeah Kahn worst GM in Wolves history bar none.

The root cause of the problem is Taylor who doesn't know jack about basketball. He hired Kahn because he was one of his people. Those folks stick together. problem is kahn didn't know jack either. Wilfy is doing the same thing Spielman. Sid The Tool knows how this works.

Does anyone really think that the way the game of pro basketball is staged in Minnesota will merit a serious contender? And notice that I say staged and not played? The NBA is in the business of running an entertainment activity not a competitive sport. It is fixed and certain markets are always going to end up in contention for TV time and in the playoffs. About once every 5 seasons they will let a "wildcard" like San Antonio, or Utah or Oklahoma City win, but for the most part it will always be one of the top 6 major markets winning. Do you know that when the national network rights were up for renewal a few years back and NBC held them, when it came time to open the bids, NBC's bid for renewal was $1? This is how they moved to ABC. It is like watching paint dry. Locally, Glen Taylor claims to have out of town interests wanting to buy the team. I doubt it. Or else he has them valued way beyond what they are worth. Timberwolves are like Sacramento or Milwaukee Bucks --i.e., stuck to be a stop on the schedule and never anything more. This is why Gophers with Pitino have a chance to be Kings of this town for ALL OF WINTERTIME SPORTS if they just put a competitive team together that can finish in the top 4 of the Big 10. NBA will never let the T-Wolves be a major-market team and Glen Taylor will never be a major-team owner. He has the team priced too high to find a local buyer. They are stuck. Fans will fade if Gophers show any improvement and WILD actually improve during a regular season.

My goodness people, you need a history lesson, Flip Saunders was a coach in the CBA and a personnel man in said leauge before he came to the timberwolves back in 94-95, HE WAS THE GM WHEN HE STARTED HERE! It was when Bill Blair decided he was not goign to play KG as a rookie and was not torunign the team around the way it should that Flip left the front office at the direction of Kevin MCHale and started coaching! It was Flip along with McHale that decided to draft KG out of high school and the next year draft Ray Allen but trade him to Milwaukee for Steph Marbury, but after that McHale was solely making the decisions along with Taylor, Joe Smith come to anybody's minds, Flip was stuck with one good star all those years, KG, except one and we all know what season that was, and he managed to get this team in the playoffs with that type of roster that was given him, so give him his chance!

Can't help but wonder if flip had something going when he was wasting Woody's time for the Gopher's job. Of course that's on Woody too, since Flip is not a college coach - even a little bit - and Woody was caving to media pressure. Good luck Flip. I'm glad you ended up where you belong and not with the only basketball team in town that actually matters.

Thanks to current Minneapolis Mayoral candidate, Jackie Cherryhomes, this bumbling franchise plays in a areana subsidized by the taxpayers of Minneapolis. And we residents of Minneapolis wonder why our property taxes are so outrageously high?
