EWG has always made false claims about farmers. They love to throw gas on a fire. The farmers that turned out good on this deal are the ones that took the highest amount of insurance they could buy. They paid an unusually high premium for this coverage also. EWG should fold their tent and go pick on some other group. They are a typical group that likes to only tell one side of the story.

So are they gonna pay back the excess or just pocket the profits?

big surprise here. Pay subsidies to maintain large profits - if false, why $8-13k per acre of land? Profits drive new grid tiling. Grid tiling flushes moisture to ditches & into rivers which causes pollution and less water to aquifers. Help out ethanol while we're at it, which also consumes ground water. How many farmers support their own Ethanol product by consuming it?

Ain't it awful. The complaints about too much farm subsidies (or whatever they call them today) has been raging for decades. Nothing has changed except that the little farmer is all but gone and has been replaced by GOP- loving conservatives who hate the government at the same time are reaping huge USDA farm payments. Go figure.

Our government seems paralyzed from correcting or fixing anything. Even the most egregious upper middle class subsidies paid to farmers. These are generally very high net worth individuals.

This is almost criminal but nothing will ever come of it or a fix anytime soon. Why bother, this country and state are more concerned with making sure ILLEGAL aliens and their kids are taken care of before we take care of our own!

If the government can't even run crop insurance, how do we expect the government to run heatlthcare?
