I am sure that I'm not the only one who has daydreamed about falling off the grid. That is as far as most of us go.

She likely burned out, for whatever reason. With social services already at bare minimum, people have little options, and just give up. This is a systematic problem, and is why the country seems to have gone mad. Many people won't understand, and they will hoot and holler about responsibility. But there comes a time when we as society are responsible to provide adequate treatment, and treat people as loved ones, and not only a commodity.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Pump the brakes on the empathy, people. This woman left her two children, aged 8 and 12, without a trace. Woe is her? Seriously?
I'm guessing drugs are involved. The kids might have gotten less of two evils in the long run.
