Tevlin: April indeed is the cruelest month for holding a bike challenge

This is how it was supposed to end: A warm day with a slight undertow of cool breeze, on a bike trail heading west as the morning traffic thrummed somewhere far off. Red-winged blackbirds dipped down from trees, and a passing rider gave me the biker nod.

Way to go Jon! I also did 30 Days - but spent a lot of time w/ my bike on the front of a bus or in the LRT due to the snow/muck: I know my limits - I break when I fall (not young anymore). And your experiences with cars, taxis, pedestrians mirrors what most bike commuters/riders find. (Patrick would tell you that we do this in April b/c if it was easy it wouldn't be a challenge - I look at the coming snow storm and say, "easy? May?"

I hope you'll try a few more commutes in the next month or so. I'm a non-winter bike commuter who planned on starting up again in April but only ended up riding 5 days or so. And two of them I didn't bike home due to a snowstorm that blew in while at work.

Better days are coming...

I did it. Every day. In snow, sleet, rain, high wind and I *think* there might have been some sun on some day... maybe??? And tonight, rode 8 miles in snow. I feel great. The worst part about the weather is looking at it through a window. Nobody says how far you need to ride. Something is better than nothing.
