I applaud your efforts to let the truth be known about clergy abuse. The reason being, is that I am a survivor of such an abuse which occurred 5o years ago. Recently, I summed my courage to report this abuse to the Diocese in RI who promptly followed up with a report. Unfortuntely, the priest who was assigned to the Providence Diocese is deceased and he had been with an Order out of NY. This order has chosen to stay "hidden" behind the very high wall of secrecy that is a common denominator among religious orders and has not come forth to even discuss this with me. I do commend the Diocese for their response, but as long as the religious orders are allowed to hide, the Church will continue with their problems. Instead of finding some kind of healing by reporting my abuse, I am reliving it all over again.
