CHICAGO – The Wild should get a much-needed boost for Game 1 of its first-round playoff series against the Chicago Blackhawks with the return of right winger Jason Pominville.

Hopefully Heatley will be able to come back - assuming they continue in the playoffs long enough. He is one of the very few on this team that is a threat to score whenever he gets the puck. He doesn't provide a lot else but he is very similar to a DH in baseball. hope he makes it back. You know the other teams do not like seeing him on the ice.

Glad to hear Heatley on the mend & could be back...and that the WILD are only wearing the green jerseys & not the red "target" Jerseys....GO WILD !!! Prove everyone wrong WILD, that we CAN make a GREAT playoff run!!!

Wild without Pominville = Out in 5 games Wild with Pominville = Chance to beat Chicago and move on Wild with Pommy and Heater = Chance to hoist the cup!!

Great to have you back Poms, now lets go beat those Hawks!!!!!!!!!

I still don't think the Wild will beat Chicago, but then again I didn't think Yale would beat the Gophers, either...

I'm just wondering, why the team would fly back to Minnie and practice on home ice instead of practicing on the visitor's ice to be more comfortable on it? Any thoughts on that?

I'm sure Chicago will also be practicing on their own ice, so the Wild would have to adjust their schedule to fit what Chicago leaves available. Plus, if you are practicing on the enemies ice, how many of the enemies eyes would be on your practice? I think the team would be able to have a much better and much more productive practice at home.

Would love to see Heater come back. Could get quite creative with that "acquisition." Maybe move PMB to center on the third line (keep him out of the corners and allow him to set up the other two all night long) and put Heatley and Pominville on his wings. Move Brodziak to fourth line center between Mitchell and Clutter and scratch Rupp and Knopka both. Suddenly you're really, really deep.

The Blackhawks checked into a Chicago hotel Monday night to avoid any family distractions (similar to what NFL teams do on Saturdays). The Wild do the opposite and fly home home inbetween games? Do we want our players keeping wifey happy with their honey do lists or focusing on the games?
