The intense, focused captain knows there’s no time like the present for him and the Wild to make their mark in the playoffs.

Make it happen Wild.

Sad fact, just getting in isn't going to do it going far and winning it will. He's said all the right things when he does speak, now all that's missing is doing it. He might want to lighten up a bit, then he will find out thing might actually go a little easier for him. Kinda explains why his own brother didn't want to play with him.

I think Mikko is way underrated as a player in the NHL. I have never seen him dog it on a play, ever. He always gives his full effort. It's ridiculous when the Wild are playing poorly that some of the dopes on these forums call to have his "C" removed. All you need to know is this: at the end of a close game when the Wild is leading and needs to hold on for a win, who do you look for to be out on the ice? Every time you see Mikko you've got to admit you feel more relaxed. I really hope that the Wild can move to the elite in the next few years and be legitimate contenders. If they do, Mikko will play a huge role in it. BTW, I didn't realize what a jerk Havlat was. Good riddance.

No doubt about his desire to compete ...just need a couple more goals from him on occasion. Patrol the neutral zone Mikko - don't let these flying Blackhawks go through there or it will be over quickly...maybe sooner than 4 games if they have their way with the game control.

The players that really need to step up their game is Brodziak and Clutterbuck. Basically worthless in the regular season. They must be stellar in the playoffs for the Wild to have a shot. That of course assumes good Backstrom as opposed to flopping Backstrom decides to show up.

Mikko is fine, the captain was another blunder once DR left, now you finally have some one that makes sense for that position

Koivu ranks number 40 in points scored in the NHL.............................Not very elite numbers.

Whew. Last few yrs must have been really discouraging? Hmm, I want to win but I don't perform well enough to win? Or is the win/loss total misleading? Maybe I am not seeing the big picture? Like playoff wins?

like most everything about his game...but geez, he's on the first power play unit and not one PP goal this year!
