I think I'll go ahead a design a multi-million dollar home on Lake Minnetonka. It's gonna be really great with tons of cool features. I've got no way to pay for it but what does that matter? Full speed ahead!

I hope this is MLS ready! Can't wait to see clubs like Manchester United hit the big time in Minnesota! That means real grass people. No artificial stuff like at the TCF Bank stadium. FIFA won't allow it. It's only a matter of time before we get Minnesota United FC playing in MLS.

Just so long as they take soccer into consideration and have this under FIFA standards, I'll be happy. NFL only plays 8 regular season games at home. Other events will be needed. MLS is totally the way to go. World's number one game. Can't wait to see international friendlies with the likes of Messi and Van Persie in MINNESOTA!

This sounds gorgeous. Lots of light. Hopefully natural grass for FIFA and soccer possibilities.

Imagine taking the Central Corridor light rail to see exhibition games between Real Madrid and FC Dortmond! WOW! It blows my mind just thinking about it. This is big time people. This stadium is going to put Minneapolis on the map!

Although I'm a big proponent of a new football stadium for the Vikings, and overall prefer all 4 sports concentrated in on downtown urban area, I hope the Wilfs contribute more than just condos and shopping spaces to line their pockets. I hope they also personally give to charities within the city that might include a park, a women's shelter or buy a wing at a hospital. Living in phoenix, we've received two ends of ownership. We have the Bidwells who have contributed nothing to the state for 25 years and haven't rooted themselves to the community. Then we have Jerry Colangelo who not only made the Suns who they are, but brought baseball and hockey to Phoenix. He also gave so much to charity and his community involvement can only be rivaled by the Rooneys. Yes, there is an indirect financial windfall to local business when it comes to regentrification. With all 4 sports in one area, that creates automatic business for 174 days of the year and that's without playoffs, special events, concerts and conventions, but there has to be a civic duty to charity that helps enrich lives and or help those in need.

I'm definitely concerned that too many corners will be cut... The Stadium should be retractable just like the stadium in which the Seattle Mariners baseball team play in and the field should be Natural Grass.

I was impressed by all the pro-soccer posts until I realized they all came from the same guy.

Depending on the lighting from the top and an open air from the sides etc... I could be ok without retractability. I'd like for it to look a bit like the rough mockup where it looks modern and artistic from the outside and not just like another "stadium." Would love to see natural grass but is that realistic in the MN climate and the multi-purpose needs? Not sure. I do have confidence it will NOT look or feel like it was built on the cheap.

The new ZygiDome will the world's largest and most expensive empty trophy case. The only question will be where will the vikings be showcasing their empty Super Bowl / World Championship trophy case???
