I have always been a fan of Kluwe for both his punting and video game attachment. I would honestly be quite sad to see him leave the team. Hopefully, everything will work out well for both Kluwe and Locke.

Personally, I can't wait for him to be an X-Viking Maybe the 49'rs can use him.

I thought Kluwe had a very inconsistant year in 2012. He picked real bad times to shank some punts and cost the Vikes critical field position down the stretch. It seemed he could boom them unless it was a pressure situation. It seems like he took a huge step back from 2011 and I was hoping they would bring someone else in.

“If the Vikings end up cutting me, I’ll find a job somewhere else,” Kluwe said. MSNBC no doubt.

This is great news. Bub bye Kluwe.

The special team's coach (what's his name??) has grown tired of Kluwe's off-field editorials -- so now he's gone. Well, the new kid better produce or the no-name special team coach will be gone.

It amazes me that a guy that punts a football for a living believes we will all listen to and follow his stand on social issues. Kluwe could have helped the Viking defense in 2013 by pinning teams inside the 20. Perhaps he should spend more of his attention on that.

Kluwe's boss, his position coach, said he was getting sick of the distractions so it's not like Kluwe wasn't warned. He's no different than the rest of us, we start pissing off our boss and his or her leash gets shorter with us.

It's quite amusing how most of the comments on here are people expressing their opinions that Kluwe should lose his job for expressing his opinion. What hypocrisy! Obviously, those who are commenting aren't worried about losing their jobs for doing so, why should Kluwe???

Lets be fair people. Chris Kluwe has been one of the most consistant Punters in the league. I have no problem with what he does off the field. I believe that he rubbed the wrong people the wrong way. When you take Priefer's statement about the distractions getting to old for him, and add a 5th round punter who can come in for 1/2 the money, it pretty much tells the story. Kluwe will find another job. GO VIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
