"He scolded lawmakers for helping the Federal Aviation Administration while doing nothing to replace other cuts that he said harm federal employees, unemployed workers and preschoolers in Head Start" Notice the difference, one side wants to help specifec winners. Meanwhile, it could be argued that fixing the stupid decisions of the FAA to furlough ATC helped millions and millions of normal every day people and USA commerce. Besides Obama had ALL the discretion whaere and what to cut.

Quit spinning. There was NO cut. There was a reduction in increased budget. This didn't have to come out of staffing. But that was the goal all along. Make it painful so you don't care about increased taxes. The FAA had 100+ areas to cut costs but went straight to staffing so it would be painful to everyone. Now they get their pork as well as funds too keep things running.

This is yet more proof that all you need for Congress to pay attention to you is to be wealthy (at least wealthy enough to afford to fly enough for a 1 hour delay to get on your nerves). Too bad those kids who're being booted out of Head Start don't have lobbyists to complain to bought and paid for politicians.

Wasn't the whole point of the sequester to cut the deficit? How are we ever going to cut spending if Congress just increases spending when folks start complaining? I have heard the FAA is funded 2/3s by user fees and 1/3 by taxes? Why not increase the fee an airline traveler pays by a few bucks and make the FAA pay for itself?

I am sure the Meals on Wheels cuts will be restored this week as well. NOT!

Sure we can not feed the poor; give children access to head start, give police funding to protect our cities; and assist the unemployed in finding jobs - but hey; at least now people flying first class will not need to worry about that 15 minute flight delay!
