Really excited about the Vikings first three picks. Floyd and Rhodes are solid picks and should contribute immediately. Patterson is electric. We'll need another good day tomorrow because the Lions, Bears, and Packers have also drafted well. Skol Vikes!

To suggest the Vikings didn't like T'eo just because they didn't draft him is absurd. Look at the players they did draft. Floyd was considered by many as a top 5 draft pick-ranked as high as #2 by some. Rhodes was considered the #2 corner-and we got him at #25? Patterson has top 10 talent. The players we did draft were simply higher up on our draft board than T'eo. Or, in the case of Patterson, considered a good fit for our team. Good luck to T'eo in San Diego.

The Minnesota press went out of their way to trash Te'o to make sure the vikings didn't draft him. I'm sure San Diego traded up for Te'o thinking they got another Junior Seau, it's the best situation he could have hoped for.

The Vikings used this kid. That's what it looks like to me, anyway. They used him to toss up smoke signals about their intentions, repeatedly wining and dining him, etc. I find this unsavory. I admire some things about Spielman but I don't much care for his game-playing - using Te'o, "we have no intent to trade Percy Harvin." I wonder if at some point that kind of thing catches up to a guy.

Unless Te'o finds a way to compete against top competition (see Alabama) he'll not do well in the NFL. I suspect his performance in the championship game and his stats at the combine led lots of teams to believe he was too slow to compete at this level as he certainly could not be a three-down middle linebacker. Good move by the Vikes, I think.
