A remaining hole at middle linebacker couldn’t dim the Vikings’ enthusiasm for three top-tier acquisitions.

Great draft,Spielman hit it out of the park.MLB is not a high draft priority unless the player is truly exceptional ,there were none this year.I suspect the answer at Mlb will not come from this draft.I would look for a guard in the next few rounds or whatever falls to us.A QB prospect would be interesting!!!

For any of us following the draft process up to Thursday when the first picks were made there was no way to believe that one team, even a team with 2 late first round picks like the Vikings, could land Floyd, Rhodes, and Patterson. I still have to pinch myself. Those 3 players have all been mentioned as the best at their position leading up to the draft. Unbelievable. And then when you add to that fact that the Vikings filled 3 of the 4 holes on the team with those guys you have a situation where they can mostly just go best player available on that last day while looking for the middle linebacker. Nice.

Draft Will Compton, Nebraska

I would like to see the Vikes take a look at free agent LB Karlos Dansby. He's only 31 and has something left in the tank that would serve them for a couple years, until they draft a LB.

Middle Linebacker can be filled adequately with a FA. QB on the other hand should be the Viking's biggest concern. If ponder is going to be the number 1 QB, this team is in serious trouble.

wonder if EJ is still in shape?

I can't stop looking at the "8" on Patterson's jersey....that font is awful!

Vikes did give 4 picks for Patterson but they still got 3 players in the first 3 rounds and have a pick in every round on saturday. This was a good draft for depth and developmental players but not a real good draft at the top end. Kudos to Rick Speilman and the rest of the organization for getting 3 players of need that were in the top 20 on most draft boards. This feat will probably not happen again and could be a turning point for this organization. After seeing the Vikes pull off round one of the draft I am cofident they will figure out the mlb position. I believe the Vikes have sent a message to the NFC North that second place is not good enough they are trying to get to the top. Now its on the coaching staff to use this talent wisely. Great draft to be a Vikes fan.

Give Audie Cole a shot at MLB. Time to see how well he could play the position full time. We possibly could already have a pro bowl, MLB on our roster.

Vikes had 2 picks, 4 big needs. They filled 3 of those needs. If they even improve 2 games over last year they could go deep into the playoffs.
