Souhan: Te'o seems like a good guy, but in the NFL is that a good thing?

The linebacker’s gullibility raises a different type of red flag.

I completely agree with this article. The Vikings should pass on T'eo. I don't think he's a 3-down MLB. I don't like his coverage skills. I don't think T'eo has enough speed either. I think the guy has been over-hyped by the media. Just because T'eo played for Notre Dame is NOT a justifiable reason to draft him. A far better option would be to trade one of our 1st round selections, move into the early second round, and select Bostick-MLB-Florida State. Good speed, good tackling skills, good coverage skills.

Please, Mr. Spielman, don't draft a guy that has such a fragile grip on reality. Talk about skeletons in a closet, I don't think Te'o will survie the razzing he'll recieve in training camp. He's not particularly fast, big or suited for the pro game. He was great in college but that's where it ends. Not this guy.

I'm also against drafting Te'o. He's a head case in an all new category and he doesn't have the physical skills to make him worth the risk. I'd rather take Ogletree, Minter or Brown than Te'o. If the Vikes takes him and he plays great, I'll be the first to admit I'm wrong. I just don't see it though... SKOL!

Right now I'm hesitant about T'eo but only for his abilities on the field. But holy cow Jim, broad brush much? So you're saying that to be successful in the NFL you need to be felonious? Or at least a hairs breath away from lock up? I suppose the bad boys are easier to write about. I've had it with the wizzonator, the Love Boat, the scalping tickets, the bad additude Moss and Harvin. None of those things have gotten the Vikings a Superbowl. While the boys in purple languish in "pretty good land" with interesting to write about characters other teams go about their business winning playoffs and Superbowls with nary a peep in the media except to report how great they are. I'll take the latter.

Those whom pass on T'eo will regret their decision.......

As much as I like Notre Dame, Souhan is spot on. Te'o is good, but the media made him great. Anyone remember Brian Bosworth? Enough said.

The comment by Tabarnoosh says everything I thought after reading this article. Pretty pathetic, Souhan. If you don't think T'eo is the guy for the Vikings just say why that is without praising the criminals in the NFL as being the best guys for the sport. Apparently, there is something about T'eo that makes you cringe and feel uncomfortable or you would not have written such a ridiculous column. This isn't like you, as normally you write a worthwhile column.

Te'o brought too much attention to himself and for that came what he probably deserved. He has been over-analyzed. He did something that showed he was gullible. This player is also supposed to be intelligent by report and he manages to be in the right spot to make big plays. Everything needs to be added up. A 4.72 40 yard dash is probably great if the instincts are there and he showed in college that he has an ability to read the offensive strategy and be in position to make big plays. I also believe that if Harrison Smith did not think Te'o was not worth the risk he would just keep his mouth shut. Harrison Smith has publicly stated that he wants the Vikings to draft Te'o. He knows as much about Te'o as anyone.

Not saying I'm a big fan of Te'o, but I played football with some nice quiet guys in public and they laid you out in practice. It's what he does on the field that counts, and it sounds like he's got the backing of his former teamates that are on the Vikings.

Brian Boseworth was a late round supplemental draft pick and not even in the main draft. And he was a well known reach then as well. Not saying T'eo is any better. Just saying.
