Eduardo Escobar can run, play defense (at multiple positions) and is showing some pop at the plate.

Escobar deserves to be in the lineup every day.

Can Escobar lead off and play every day. Let's see what he's capable of. Certainly, at this point he's earned an every day chance and Hicks has not! Allowing Hicks to pracitice durring professional games is insulting to Twins fans. In our construction company we have a saying: You aren't allowed to practice on our jobs. That should be drilled into Gardenhire's head. Surprisingly, the Twins might be competitive. If they aren't going to spend the bucks they blackmailed us with to get the new stadium, the least they can do is play their best players and pretend the they are trying to win in the most professional way possible. Start Escoabar until he proves he's unqualified. Hitting in front of Mauer would set the table pretty good!

Over time, many decisions that are made in baseball seem thoughtless; however, I do not pretend to be wiser in the baseball business than the managers. Their success or failure making decisions affects their livelihood.

Escobar will be playing more i am sure? Florimon is not a lock yet? Escobar looks and plays with confidence. Hicks will be fine.Lately he has been stretching out his his at bats. Learning to lay off the curve. I do enjoy watching these young guys play. Unfortunately there will be growing pains. That is Baseball! Go Twins!

After watching him in Spring Training, I thought he could be the Twins starting shortstop by mid-May. He's done everything the Twins have asked him and so much more. Florimon has to be looking over his shoulder.

After the JJ Hardy/Nishi judgement calls, I'm pretty sure the Twins wouldn't know if they had another Honus Wagner in their system.

I like Gardys comment that Escobar is a lot like Casilla. Instead of having Casilla and Escobar up the middle Gardy plays Florimon and Dozier, two minor leaguers. Why? so the Twins only need to pay $1.2 million for both instead of $4 million for Escobar and Casilla. Escobar will be gone after this year, when other teams will want him at $4-5 million per year. Dozier throws the ball sidearm, with the ball going up in the air and then has to come down to the first baseman. This cost the Twins and Pelfrey three runs in the first inning on Tuesday when Doziers throw was late to 1st base and an inning ending double play was lost. So Pelfrey gets an ERA for the game of 10 instead of 4. Dozier and Floriman are no friends of the Twins pitchers and will hit a combined .240 by the end of the season.

forever a lot my favorite twins were more comfortable speaking spanish. zoilo, tony, ceasar from the old days, down to the day i cried when i heard we had traded go go, a terrible decision if you consider the "twins way" is supposed to be defence. i don't think it a coincidence that we've been pretty lifeless and boring since, apparently the way management liked it. this year we've got some spark back for the first time in awhile. I think that Escobar should be the everyday shortstop....at least until Florimon shows some better fielding. I think Escobar could be a really exciting player.
