With few options to make up games and two contests hanging in the balance Tuesday, the Minnesota Twins are prepping Target Field for a chilly afternoon and evening of baseball.

I am sure glad that I did not have tickets for this game (including gas money, hotel reservations, kennel boarding for my dog, etc.). This is just the reason why I won't go to a game, bad weather and a cancellation of a game would just be to much of a financial hardship for me. I guess I will watch the games on TV.

They should have played the game last night in the snow. The temp is the same, and that's outdoor MN baseball! Home field advantage.

A little home field advantage playing in Minnesota! The Twins have been playing in the snow, rain, and cold for weeks, where the Rangers and Marlins have not. I predict a sweep of Marlins and a series win against the Rangers! GOOOO TWINS!

Hey Sid how's that outdoor stadium looking now? What a joke. Yeh the MetroDome is antequated...right. No rain outs or snow outs Sid..how's that worse?

It is time to start thinking of starting the season later? Play some double headers. A day game and a night game. treat them as separate events if you need the tickets sales. Kids can play the game all day. I think men making millions can go for seven hours to play a game.

Maybe next time the Marlins and Twins play, the schedule makers could consider playing in Miami in April, and back here in Minnesota in June?

MLB schedule is a joke!!! Why are we playing all these games in cold weather when they fully know that Minnesota weather is iffy. The Pohlads will figure out a way to gouge the fans to offset the cost somehow. They wanted an outdoor stadium, you get what you got.

Rogue37 has the right idea. I would like to see MLB go back to 154 game schedule, schedule more Saturday doubleheaders, as in the 1950s, and start the season around April 10-12 like they did back in those days. The April 1 start has been necessitated by the latest round of playoffs added to the system for this year, and it is clearly too early. It is easier to play late in October than early in April in a northern climate.

You are kidding yourselves if you truly think the cold and the snow will give the Twins a "home field advantage"...most, if not all, of the players on the Twins roster reside in places like Florida and Arizona most of the year. Even Joe Mauer has a place in Florida. How many Twins players actually reside in Minnesota year-round? It's safe to say the Twins players are not looking forward to the conditions any more so than the Marlins players are.

At least one person had to jump on the 'no roof' platform. Let's keep in mind, folks, that while we see snow in April from time to time - even storms - this year's weather is pretty unprecedented. Similarly, last year's weather was overly warm and many were talking about how great the stadium is for outdoor baseball. We have to take the bad with the good.
