Dave St. Peter, The Twins did lead the league in attendance at the Metrodome. In fact in 1988 they became the first American League team to ever draw 3,000,000 fans in one season. Of course they also won the World Series in 1987 which proves that if you win, Minnesota fans will support you no matter where you play.

The keyword in the title in 'some'... which makes it a non-story to most of us. The main cog is MLB, who should be scheduling most April games, for all teams, in warm or indoor facilities. Opening day here in Minnesota? Really? Talk about a plan to fail. Oh... bad weather and outdoor baseball > baseball in the Metrodome.

I don't believe I have actually heard fans "pining" for the Metrodome. What I have heard is retractable roof that should have been put on Target Field. Big difference between Target Field with a retractable roof and the Dome.

The problem is starting the season the first week in April. Let's go back to a 154-game schedule, start the third week in April, and play some double headers to guarantee we can finish the World Series by the last week of October. Kind of a blend of modern baseball with old time scheduling. While we're at it, let's scale back players' salaries so that a double header doesn't kill a team's economic base.

1.)Dave St.Peter is annoying. 2.) This is an unusual year for weather, so let's not start "pining" for anything. Instead lets do something smart like NOT schedule early April games here. We have no roof, so deal with it. I would rather sit in a snowsuit outside than sit in the Dome.

Don't you people understand that APRIL POSTPONEMENTS ARE A GOOD THING??...maybe sent from heaven...The MORE postponements in April, the MORE MAKEUP GAMES sitting outdoors at a baseball game on a summer evening rather than freezing your four cheeks while watching baseball in an April blizzard.....
