Wooddale Avenue in Edina to be restriped by June

Wooddale Avenue, which has confused some drivers since the road was striped with experimental “advisory” bike lanes, will get more conventional road markings by June.

Some clarifications to the story. The discussions have been to replace the northbound advisory bike lane with shared lane markings (sharrows) between Valley View Rd. and 50th St. W.; to replace the southbound advisory bike lanes with a dedicated bike lane from 50th St. to 56th St. and sharrows from 56th to Wooddale. A center line will be added. The road is not too narrow for a center line; however, a variance would have been required for a center line with the advisory bike lanes.

Correction to above. Should read "...and sharrows from 56th St. To Valley View."

Thanks City of Edina for coming to your senses. It's the right thing to do and safest for residents. Next time how about asking local residents before you cash that big federal check?
