Do the Vikings believe in Manti Te'o?

Squeaky-clean Heisman Trophy runner-up one month, tabloid fodder the next. Many NFL teams, including the Vikings, are scrutinizing Manti Te'o. Will the Vikings take a chance on the Notre Dame linebacker in the draft?

I dont really care about the fake girlfriend thing and his lies. He isnt hooked on drugs or been involved in a shooting at 2 am like alot of players. However, he is a poor fit for the Vikes because of his abilities. He is waaay overrated. I watched more of him playing than most normal fans. He is rated as high as he is BECAUSE he went to Notre Dame and was on national TV every week. He was the media darling. He is going to be an average at best NFL player and certainly not worth a no. 1 draft pick. Very slow, will have trouble shedding blockers in the NFL. Not effective in pass coverage. Do the vikes need another linebacker that can only play on run downs?

7 interceptions for a middle linebacker in his senior year unbeleivable.the last time we had a corner intercept 7 or more was jimmy hitchcock 15 years ago.a heisman finalist even though he plays LB.if he is there at 23 we will take him and i hope we do.anybody remember mike singletary?he wasnt very fast either.....

I'll agree with drewman. Teo is a top 5 pick before the girlfriend hoax and the Alabama game. I don't think the Vikings could be more fortunate to have a prospect like Teo doing a free fall to them from the top of the draft when that's what they needed to begin with is a middle linebacker. Instincts are an underrated part of a football players makeup. Speed is useless when a ML can not diagnose an offensive play. Teo is football smart and does that well.

He is a joke, did anybody see Alabama make him look like a school girl. Joke will be on the Vikes if they sign this overrated guy!

Teo was a big reason Notre Dame went 12-0 last year. Most scouting services have Teo rated in the top 25 and he would fill a major need. I would have no problem with the Vikings taking him. My main concern is the Vikings overreaching for a WR, like Troy Williamson II.

He'll be in purple if he's available when the Vikes pick. He flew here on Thursday from San Diego, I was on the plane with him but his girlfriend stayed behind (lol).

It is the portrait of him during the Alabama game that worries me. Didn't seem like he could stop a top ranked running back at all.

he understands how to play the game and his instincts are top notch. i have some concerns about his off the field intelect and or honesty but there is nothing criminal there. i think te'o could be an impact player with good tackles in front of him allowing him freedom to pursue. he is very urlacher like minus the straight line speed...good instincts, good tackler, good hands but struggles shedding blockers. i would absolutely take him at 25 but he will only be as good as kevin williams is healthy.

If the Vikings select him, and I think they will if he's available, I have absolutely no problem with that. Te'o can ball, there is no question about that. He'll be even better if the Vikings get the DT issues fixed in front of him, too.

Well, half of you think he would be a great pick and half of you think he would be a horrible choice. So, I guess that's what we call opinions. We will see how it all turns out. what I do know is that I am really looking forward to next week's draft.
