Of coure, the family wants to knwow what happened to the two young men to make them decide to to this. That is refreshing in away since the usual explanation for local killings and so on if often that (fill in the blanks) was just starting to get his life turned around, had just started a new job, was trying to be a father to his 2-3 kids and so on so they just can't understand what happened.
How many times have we heard that a terrorist who perpetrated some heinous crime against innocent people had "recently become a devout Muslim"?
How wonderful did she find him after his 2009 assault on a girlfriend?
How many times have we heard that a terrorist who perpetrated some heinous crime against innocent people had "recently become a devout Muslim"? Or christian!
Praying 5 times a day is a tenant of Islam that ALL Muslims observe...just as giving 10% alms to the poor and making a pilgrimage to Mecca. I'm not surprised at the poor understanding of religion by the Strib writers. A little research would go a long way. P.S. I'm not even Muslim
We know better. I heard multiple liberals call in to MPR 2 days ago claiming they believed it was right wing extremists.
according to NPR and it's liberal listeners the terrorists were supposed to be right wingers. The other day they were calling into NPR and accusing right wingers of celebrating Hitler's birthday by bombing the marathon. What a shameful display. I wonder if NPR will apologize?
The performance of the media on this story is frankly a black mark in the history of journalism. After rushing to judgment and blood libeling Christians, conservatives and Tea Party members, now we get stories like this carrying the new meme, that radical Islam could not possibly be responsible for terrorism of this type. And of course it's not responsible for Fort Hood, the Times Square bomber, the shoe bomber, the underwear bomber, 9/11 and God only knows how many others. The media appears willing to stop at nothing to soft-pedal the real problem we face -- jihadists trying to kill us. Report the truth, media. For a change.
Actually, the Taliban, Al Quaida etc. could very accurately be called Right Wing Extremists. That said, let's agree that very few conservatives or liberals are bomb throwing terrorists. I might also add that of the 1.57 billion followers of Islam the number of terrorists are about the same as the proportion of Christians who are members of the Ku Klux Klan.
So very true ranger1873. Chris Matthews at MSNBC (aka the Democratic Committee Channel) should be fired. But of course we know that will never happen. I tuned in an hour or so ago to MSNBC, and they are trying just SOOOO hard not to believe or say it could be an act of Muslim Islamic extremists.
