This isn't the end of the world. It's just another sign that this team is indeed "mediocre," and here's why I say that. It deserves to qualify as the seventh seed in the playoffs. Why? It has a winning record against everyone below it, and it doesn't have a winning record against anyone above it. Thus, it should remain where it is tonight, therefore it is middle of the pack (7-9) in the conference, making it "mediocre." The truth is, until this team bones up at the center position--until it gets more guys like Tyler Graovac in its system and quits insisting that Mikko Koivu is a #1 center--it will remain "mediocre." It's nice that the Wild will finally make the playoffs again, but it's gone in four or five vs. Anaheim, so what is really the point...at this point? To save a couple of jobs and claim "we're on our way"?

Sloppy play, turnovers and no grit around the net. They played like they were already thinking about the next homestand. Wasted time on another dreary session of midnight mediocrity.

Koivu is a total chump. Never goes in the corner and poking at puck carriers gloves is not back checking. Use your body, for crying out loud. If he is the best center we have we ain't going no where.

Come on guys it was San Jose for pete sakes. They've lost once at home all year. Once! to who...Chicago...they got 4 points from a possible 6 for crying out loud...relax...they'll be home the next 4 games and it's not in stone that they finish 7th..

LMAO!!! 6-1???? Another pathetic attempt from this terribly disappointing team! They ALL skated like they were mired in mud, and Backstrom looked like a tired old man struggling to his feet and flopping around like a fish in front of his net. Time for HIM to go and let's get Koivu out of there too. Time for a trade. If he's the captain that's going to inspire this team to greatness, then they're really in trouble. I feel sorry for Leipold, despite being a billionaire. He's wasted a LOT of money on mediocrity and the fans are tired of it too.

I blame yeo for this. Give Backs a rest, you dope! You have put Kumpfer in at Edmonton. I don't care about his success against them; HE'S TIRED! I noticed how lethargic he looked during warm-ups against Columbus. Yeo, stop polishing your head before games and try using your brain... BTW: Bench Stoner too!

Not totally unexpected to lose a game at the end of a road trip. What is totally unexpected is for a club to play like they didn't care. They made a half hearted stab in P1 and then actually mailed it in from there - attitude- we'll play again 'Sunday' ... Another effort like that? A 'post season Sunday' playoff game may never come!

Again everyone gave me the thumbs down for being negative on the Wild vibe even though the Wild beat 2 teams so terribly bad in Edmonton and Calgary, Why does not anyone ask me why its possible for the Wild to beat St Louis, Chicago, LA and The Ducks in the second round but not in the first round like I stated in my prediction with yesterdays poster ?? Why not ask, the key is if the Wild get in they have a possible shot at going deep in the playoffs but its very important for them to get the right first round match up to do it

LOLLLLLLLLLLLLL LINDY,,,,,,,,,,u act like this is first time. The team is average,,,and hopefully dont make the playoff,,,cause just like the vikes making the playoffs as a last seed, its just more revenue for the team,,no chance at winning it. They are like the rest of MN sports,,,,,Toast!!! Why they keep that idiot coash is beyond me.
