It's more "leadership" than "pocketbook". Sid, all you think about are the out-of-control salaries and budgets within a school. How does Boise State compete... how do the small schools in the Dakotas beat up a big school like MN. How does Dayton retain a basketball coach for less dollars and remain competitive year after year. It starts at the top with the President that creates a culture that demands results. Your old fried Tubby was here for SIX years. The trend line on his six years was horrible. The past president & athletic director allowed this. Hopefully, the new guys at the U ...won't.

How could Kaler not know that they need $450k for lights at the new baseball field? Doesn't any update him on the goings on in Athletics? Same old dysfunction at the U.

"Well, unfortunately, it is a free market." That's a hilarious quote to take out of context. If Kaler ever runs for political office, this quote will be used to show that he is a socialist.

paddy691944 I'm in your 'wagon'! For years Sid has come up with the same old, same old lame excuses. I really wouldn't want to see it,but Minnesota should give real thought to joining the Miss.Valley Conf. The average age of their fan base {football} is desceased!

Well, unfortunately, it is a free market. DREWCORB you stole my thunder and I think he really meant it that way!
