Teague, you are planning on giving a coach with two conference wins a year and the last ranked recruiting class a raise? "nobody wants to win more" han Kill? Wanting to win and having the ability to coach and recruit are two different things Norway.

Kill has got to be nervous. He already received his raise with the $800K buy-out of North Carolina (football, not basketball). He'd better win at least 4 conference games this year or Norwood should pull the trigger. 2 conference wins in each of his first two seasons and last in the conference in recruiting each year (NOT NEAR the bottom - THE bottom) doesn't translate well for this season. I hope he can improve, but I see nothing in his first two years to indicate that Jerry Kill is the right guy. That being said, I hope I'm wrong. Let's see on Thanksgiving Day if there are more than 7 wins recorded. If not, let's move on and get someone who can recruit and win at this level. Too many empty seats in our beautiful new stadium every Saturday. And football, along with men's basketball and men's hockey pay all the bills. Go Gophs!

Can we stop with the raise talk? 2-6 in Year One, 2-6 in Year Two. Only in Minnesota do Coaches get raises for mediocrity.

Kill lost me when he wanted us to give NC $800,000 in tax payer money to get rid of a mediocre football team so he can play someone even worse. Did not our athletic dept learn that it is costly to extend contracts to coaches who do so terrible, like Tubby, Borton and now potentially Kill? Let him win and then lets talk.

This comment will have them flocking to "play 4 brew" > “We have 750 student athletes, and we have one indoor facility, and we live in a cold environment,” Teague said. “That’s not just a football issue, that’s a student-athlete issue across the board.”

I agree with the others. Show some improvement in the Conference & then we can talk raise. Until then, he sid the contract. Norwood how about fixing the Women's basketball issue. A senior be playing large minutes decides to leave? There's been a problem before, need to show Pam the door.

Hey Gene 428 - one, I promise one last time -- Taxpayer money WAS NOT used to pay NC. It was donations - let me repeat since you may have missed - it was donated money.

Hey Mrs.JackJones regardless of where the money came from to pay off NC not to play the mighty Gophers (LOL) 800,000 was money that could have been spent on something else... I'm all for giving the current a chance to prove that he can turn the program around, but only if he is NOT given an extension until he has a winning record in the Big 10.

If Dagwood has such high expectations, why did he pay $800,000 to his own alma mater (a clear conflict of interest)to get out of playing a mediocre team? Why wasn't this obvious issue even mentioned in the article? The legislature is considering funding for the U and is objecting to high salaries, so why talk about raising his salary now? The lack of common sense at the U is just stunning.
