NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Country singer Brad Paisley says he was trying to foster an open discussion of race relations when he collaborated with rapper LL Cool J on "Accidental Racist."

Someone has to start the conversation between races. If I don't know what offends you and you don't know what offends me we will continue to hurt each other. Open conversation is the ONLY answer. Ask questions without arguing, most people will answer if you honestly want to know.

Stick to country music, Brad. This song is one big groaner. And LL's line about iron chains sent me off the deep end. Newsflash: Slavery was abolished 150 years ago. That grievance just doesn't fly any more. Time to move on.
