Great to see Paul Douglas. The guy really understands the technologies of weather forecasting.

I find it simply incredulous that six weeks ago they predicted 50's a week away, then every week they keep pushing those warm temps back another week to 10 days. Somebody either needs a new crystal ball or just say spring isn't coming until late May.

@langston: Well, we have had a number of 50 degree days, but not necessarily everywhere in the forecast area. Since the storm track straddles the Twin Cities, it is hard to make a call one way or the other! Predicting weather is like predicting the shape and direction a fractal will take. Check out a fractal generator and see...

Seems to me we used to get snow as late as June. The winters have been just real easy the last 20 years or so.

Ah, yes, @Harry_Potter. My favorite. "It is cold right now where I am. Therefore, climate change does not exist." I applaud your cunning and original logic.

exactly M&R, cuz weather only gets used as proof of globull warming when it's warm...cold and snow almost nationwide??? well then weather doesn't matter at all and proves nothing.

"Yup...Global Warming alright! Nothing like SNOW in April." ----- Arctic temperatures are much higher than normal. This means the temperature differential between the Arctic and North American air masses is low. A low differential means the jet stream moves much more slowly. The jet stream is what pulls warm Pacific air over the continent. Slow jet stream = less warm air moving over the Rockies and slower season changes. What I just described is a climatic mechanism. You are describing the weather.

Well if all the nice weather is to never show its face again in MN, at least we still have low taxes, no known terrorist organizations, and a winning sports culture!
