Pominville settles in with Wild

Jason Pominville, who just a few days ago captained the Buffalo Sabres, had a whirlwind week. Acquired last Wednesday by the Wild, the veteran forward flew across the country Thursday to debut that night against Los Angeles.

The whole idea of having more than the Winter Classic as an outdoor game (besides the Heritage in Canada) is going to COMPLETELY make it all less special, and they will see even the Winter Classic interest drop. Stupid move IMO. Now have to say I am super excited to say that I will be watching the Wild prospects in my backyard next year! GO WILD!

So far, I have seen nothing from Pominville that suggests he was worth 4 high draft choices/prospects. Hopefully he will improve once he gets adjusted, but there has not been a single shift where I said..WOW, this guy is a stud. When Zucker was called up he had more of an impact and wow factor.

Pominville scored a goal and assist......... The goal was handed to him by Parise.

Really liked Granlund's game against the jackets, the 2nd line performance is really going to rely on him while Cullen is out. Hoping he uses this opportunity to push himself as a better player in the NHL.

Looking forward to seeing the new Wild jerseys next year. Too bad they aren't getting rid of those dumb Santa Claus Red sweaters. I think the road whites are probably the best looking out of the current three.

Also, moving the Aeros to Des Moines makes a lot of sense all around. It will be fun to drive down there for a game once in a while.

Hockey people realize Pominville is an All Star. He is not a "WOW" factor kind of player. The Wild gave up a lot to get him, but you have to give up something to get something. I love the trade. The Aeros possibly moving to Des Moines and the new Road whites are both great ideas.

Not only am I excited to see what the 1st line will do with Pominville, but also how Coyle will improve the 3rd line playing with Brodz and Clutter.

mnborn2@0739a.... "Pominville scored a goal and assist......... The goal was handed to him by Parise". What is your point? I think that is called hockey. It's what happens when the team game is working. Still counts as a goal.

Iowamiller... agree, too many classics could serve to water down interest, and that would be a shame because it is a great event...
