Get a Las Vegas company to open a real casino near the Mall of America with some new hotels. Let's be a shopping and entertainment "destination center".

Michele Kelm-Helgen, head of the public authority overseeing the $975 million downtown Minneapolis development, said “We’re spending money and the project is underway.” Anybody surprised! They're spending money without a plan in place to pay the tab. There's still time to euthanize this white elephant.

Its simply a matter of making the rich pay their fair share. Our government needs to raise the money from those who have it. Anyone who makes more than 50K needs to fork it over. Maybe Zyg pays a bit more, or tax yachts more, but GO VIKES. Go Gov Dayton. The money is out there, just go take it.

Here's a "Plan B: Let those who profit from it pay for it. (That would be the Vikings.)

Somebody needs to take away Kelm-Helgen’s access to the checkbook. This whole deal needs to be renegotiated, this time with the taxpayers in the driver's seat.

Let me guess......Dayton will implement a special tax on all the wealthy to pay for the stadium.

29 new sites were added during March bringing the total to 196 and the sales per device have sunk to a new low of $87. Does that sound like a turnaround is imminent? The first thing they need to do is rein in Kelm-Helgen since she's apparently got her own agenda. Then they should bring all of this to a halt rather than continuing to spend money they don't have. Without the pressure of a halt to all stadium building this will float into August and the unions will push relentlessly to issue the bonds anyway and back it with the General Fund so they can start work.

Plan B should include Dayton stepping down and stopping all spending on this until a real revenue stream can be identified. Let's spend state money the way we spend our own.

Why wasn't there a Plan B in the bill in the first place? Could it be that it was pushed through by politicians so desperate to appease Wilf and the NFL that they forgot to do their jobs?

Allow Vikings fans to show their support for the team by letting them pay for this new stadium themselves.
