$90Million is a big cut. So to retaliate let's cut illegal aliens off the dole for education, social services, healthcare, foodstamps, public housing, legal services and save MN Taxpayers $330Million annually for a net gain of $240Million every year! It's a win/win for working class taxpayers!
That's how it works. The govt taxes less and pays out less! Do we all think fed spending is magic? The taxpayers provide the fed govt with tax income, and the fed govt gives it back. I say make fed govt smaller, not bigger. Cuts are crucial.
The headline should read "Minnesotans stand to save $90 million in tax dollars due to federal cuts". Much less ominous.
Sad part, its not real cuts its just cuts in future increases in new spending.
Cutting Head Start and then blaming educators years later for dropouts, low achievement, falling enrollments into higher education in the US, etc. Meanwhile, war spending continues its merry way. Give our money back to us. Take care of our people first!
Why don't they first cut from those states that are the largest recipients of our tax dollars ranked from 10th to 1st: ND, CT, WV, AL, KY, NM, HI, MD, VA, and Alaska. Some of these mooches like Alaska, North Dakota, Kentucky, and Alabama have been on this list for decades. It's about time they pay their fair share.
How about we cut all these handouts to other countries? How about we cut the war spending and end it? Cut back on defense spending, we have plenty of defensive capabilities and will still be the biggest baddest mfers on the planet even if 5-10 % goes away. Let get economy back on track then go back to spending down the road when we can AFFORD it.

Are you saying you think our federal taxes are going down? More truthful would be "GOP once again to raise individual property taxes and blame it on federal spending cuts."
I am really sick of the government giving grants to pay highly paid arts management while cutting nutrition and Head Start for poor kids. Wrong, wrong, wrong value. Just evil.
Don't worry we can make that up in a year with electronic pull tabs. Perhaps we should unfund the half a billion going to a billionaire and his millionaire employees and put the mere pitance of $90 million back in the coffers for those poor low income folks.
