Dear Amy: My wife and I are in our late 20s. We have a widower neighbor in his 60s who has been extremely generous to us since we moved in four years ago. For example, he gives us each Christmas and birthday gifts, and we have always reciprocated.

This neighbor has crossed a line that he cannot uncross. Tell him the negligee was not appreciated and then stop with the gifts altogether. I think it is Oprah, or maybe Dr. Phil who says: "When someone shows you who they are, believe them." Your neighbor is a pervert and will not change. Since he makes you both very uncomfortable, my advice is to severely curtail the relationship.
