Americans, want no further infringement on our constitutional rights and demand that current laws be enforced. Calling for "universal background checks" ignores the facts. How can a background check be "universal" when it depends on voluntary compliance between individuals? I doubt sales between criminals in the back alley in the dark of night would include a background check, just like happens now. Meaningless feel good posturing, nothing more. There are laws on the books already that require background checks for sales by licensed dealers. Anything beyond that is unenforceable. Adding more
restrictions on top of the thousands already on the books does little. Lack of enforcement is the problem.
sharkyshark: How's about making anyone liable for their weapons just like we do cars?? What would be wrong with that?
I applaud those Sheriffs for speaking out. I heard one talking on the news and I 100% agree with him. Obama, you need to go do things that are important.
