Twins pin 2013 hopes on 'You never know'

  • Article by: Phil Miller , Star Tribune

The Twins reject the low expectations that devolve from two catastrophic seasons, and don’t share the pessimism about 2013 that has become consensus around the league and around the state.

It's Spring and time for baseball. Go TWINS. (BITING MY TONGUE)

I've quit watching them altogether. I don't think I'll go back. Enjoy your profits, Mr. Pohlad.

A sure sign of a bad team is to hype your prospects... also Im sorry Morneau but when has TR ever brought in help at the trade deadline? Going to be a long year...

I think the pins should read SUCKERS and be required for anyone who pays to watch this bush league pitching staff.

this is PROFESSIONAL don't hope or pray or think and good grief, it is NOT about the ballpark experience. You either win or you lose. George Steinbrenner figured this out a looooooooonnnnng time ago. That is why he was arguably the greatest owner in pro sports history. the twins are a joke and it is laughable that they killed the golden goose (target field) in three seasons.

also, can we give credit where credit is due. the farm system was beefed up by bill smith NOT terry ryan. byron buxton was a terry ryan at the helm pick, but they also had to lose 99 games to be in position to pick buxton. can we at least not let the facts get in the way of a good story?

St Peter, Ryan, et al are sucking the life and soul right out of this team. They should be ashamed of themselves.

We definitely have some talent in the minors, and Hicks will be exciting in center, but the starting pitching has looked downright HORRIBLE with the exception of De Vries. I'm sure Diamond will be decent, but man it's gonna be a rough year.

The Twins did nothing to significantly change their pitching liability. Management (Pohlads) have tightened their belts and are preferring to pad their bank accounts surroudning this business first and foremost. Will future spending be forthcoming? Who knows? The quid pro quo was that they would spend if we would build it. Obviously, we've been like Charlie Brown having the football pulled out from him by Lucy. Stick a fork in the Twins, no pitching, no competitive team. Even the promised development around Target Field has not materialized. But at least the Pohlads are now making money off the stadium, that is the important thing.
