A mental hospital would be a lot cushier than prison and more than he deserves.

It was okay for him to murder his precious daughters but he doesn't think he should be held responsible for their murders? What? You are responsible!!!

...the burden of proof to show by a preponderance of evidence that Schaffhausen had a mental disease or defect at the time of the crimes... Of course he had a mental illness or defect - prison and throw away the key!

I've been watching some of the livefeed coverage and the prosecutor Freyberg is just amazing! Sharp, thorough, direct. This guy is going to nail Schaffhausen with everything he deserves.

Aaahhh. That insanity card. So, because you are insane, we (judge and jurrors) think it make sense if decided to lock you up for the rest of your life so you won't create more problems for the rest of the society. It's what best for you and others.

My preference in this case is that Mr. Schaffausen not go to prison. Perhaps it would be more appropriate to have a prison built on top of him.

Where ever he ends up, please make sure his cell has a view of the cemetery with his daughters. When will personal responsibility come back into fashion again? Wake me up when it does.

Interesting that the StarTribune allows comments on this article. Yet did not allow comments on the Amy Senser artcles? What is the criteria for when to and when to not allow comments?

This guy may be insane, but I believe he knew exactly what he was doing. He planned and executed what he intended to do and I think he is just plain and simply "evil".
