Stop the crap of "putting our brothers and sisters back to work" spoken like a true Democrat, the only union jobs will be for those who are hired to pick up nails!Don't you think the maybe builders of this farce have their own workers?

Sung to the tune by Aretha Franklin's "Chain of Fools". Spend, spend, spend. Spend like fools. Spend, spend, spend. Spend like fools. For five long years, I was a Vikings fan, but I found out I was just a link in your taxing plan. You got use where you want us, and now we're nothing but your tools, I ain't nothing but a taxed to death fool. You treated me mean oh you treated me cruel Chain, chain, chain, chain of taxpaying fools

Jobs at the new Vikings Stadium? Get real. Hot dog vendors and ticket takers will be called into action 10 times a year. This city has far greater needs. Are there any legal repercussions in stopping this stadium boondoggle now? Any Strib reporters want to tackle that question?

I thought Betsy Hodges and Mark Andrew sounded great, tied for first. Gary Schiff was close behind them but didn't wow me. I think Gary is a great councilmember and chair of the Planning and Zoning Committee. He is reform minded and the city needs a guy like him, but he should've opted to keep his position on the council. I don't think he can win. Jackie Cherryhomes and Don Samuels did not impress at all. I think this will come down to Hodges and Andrew, despite both of them coming from wealthy SW Minneapolis. Those people are the ones who show up to caucus and show up on election day.

same old story from that set of madeover politicians. What Minneapolis needs is someone from outside the DFL inner circle with some fresh new ideas. Maybe a trip to the zoo to visit a monkey will bring some new ideas.

The GOP should not even run a candidate. It would be a waste of time and money. Every large city that is severely in debt and mismanaged is owned by democrats. The citizens of these cities are convinced that if they re-elect the same party over and over again that they will get more entitlements and life will be grand. Some people never learn.
