La Velle, you named who should be the 4 and 5 starters. Basically the whole starting staff is a bunch of 4 and 5 starters, still. We saw this last year, and we will see it again this year. We could have a regression this year with the starters. I hope not, but we will see.

Butera!!! This is getting old!!

BallFourMar. 24, 1311:25 PM

Hate to break it to the Butera bashers, but if he were out of options and released, he'd be in the majors with another club opening day.

There is this foolishness that you can't use your back-up catcher (Doumit) as the DH without a third catcher because if the starter got hurt, "you would lose the DH for the rest of the game." I want to throw up every time I hear Dick Bremer spout this nonsense. My god, we might have to play like the NL for 3 or 4 innings, by pinch-hitting for the pitcher once or twice. Please keep a bench player who can hit or run, and start with two catchers.

Thank you ritterj for bringing that point to light. It does show that this Twins team is so paranoid about Mauer getting injured. If Mauer gets hurt, the Twins will have to play half-a-game without a DH -- not exactly something they should base the entire roster around. Roll the dice with Mauer and Doumit, stock the bench with an extra bat. Still torn on that Jim Thome idea...anything new with that development LEN3?

Correia shouldn't have a rotation spot locked up. The only reason he does is the Twins weren't thinking straight when they signed him and told him he had one. @ 5mil a year that's a very expensive BP (Not bull pen but Batting Practice) arm

So Burnett gets in again by default. My oh my. He's a very lucky guy.

Parents...teach your children to play the catcher position. Send them to catcher training camps or whatever you can do to get them training. The fact that there is a trade market for Drew Butera shows that there is definitely a future for anyone playing the position!

Not just good but GREAT to see Hicks step up this year and win that starting CF role, especially after we traded our two top CFs for pitching. I was a little worried about that CF spot, but not anymore thanks to Hicks' great spring. Looking forward to watching this kid out in center all year! Go Twins!!

BALLFOUR says,"Hate to break it to the Butera bashers, but if he were out of options and released, he'd be in the majors with another club opening day."----So what?
