What about all the totally wasteful, pork barrel earmarks? Did the article mention we have a one trillion deficit and a $17 trillion debt.

A total wasteful pork spending, seems to be when the other guy gets the money. The truth of the matter is, if the wealthy went back to paying what they did 30 yrs. ago, we wouldn't be in this mess. This idea, we give them more tax cut and they will spread it around, just hasn't worked.

Can we shift MN's share of the $700M St Croix bridge project over to I94 & Hwy 10 where far more Minnesotans would actually benefit? We need to prioritize our spending, and building a new commuter bridge for Western WI seems less necessary.

How does Bachmann earn the title fiscal hawk? All she has done is squawk when her district gets cut.

That's funny - the Tea Partiers and the conservatives want to give the states control, and when the states got control, the conservative representatives in Congress then chaff and complain because they can't pass out "freebies"...

It's a good thing we already have the Interstate Highway System; because in this political environment, a large project with vision would never get approved.

What goes around, comes around. Since the mentality of these "modern" conservatives seems to be "what was good enough for our great-grandparents is good enough for us," let the roads between the Twin Cities and St. Cloud go back to dust and mud -- in the name of fiscal "responsibility."
