Minnesota Pollution Control Agency issues favorable report on burner

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency’s preliminary findings show no ill effects from increased burning at the Hennepin Energy Resource Company (HERC) just west of Target Field.

MPCA has not been able to get the air emissions numbers to work -- this is the news that should be reported. The emissions plume should also be required viewing for all residents.

The MPCA has made numerous policy statements is favor of incineration and likes to give communities grants to expand incineration. The agency is NOT a neutral party to any proceeding or decision involving incineration. In this case, the MPCA is making major efforts to soften up Minneapolis in advance of the official release of documents proclaiming that expanded burning at the HERC burner in downtown Minneapolis is just fine. But why is the Strib reporting only one side of this important issue?
