Does this mean drug use (smoking, drinking, etc) after conception would be child abuse? It would be interesting to see how they apply it. Of course, the law will fail the first legal challenge.

Do these legislators not realize that this debate was settled almost 40 years ago by the Supreme Court?

So if my wife has a miscarriage does that make her a murderer? If she is in a car accident and loses the child will she be brought up on manslaughter charges? This is just ridiculous.

All right, ladies, here is what this means. You will have to register every pregnancy as soon as possible. After that if you miscarry there needs to be a full police investigation. Your lifestyle will be considered by a grand jury to determine if you are guilty of manslaughter or even murder(is yoga dangerous?)(did you ever express unhappiness with the pregnancy?). This is brought to you by the "get government out of my life" party.

All the concern in the world for the unborn, but no caring about those already in it.

Any word on whether, or not North Dakota also passed pending bills to install electricity, running water and and the use of paper over papyrus in schools? I know they were thinking of bringing in Jimmy Swaggart to oversee government processes and I seem to recall that the Christians in my neighborhood all enjoyed the Saturday night running of Lawrence Welk on PBS. Wait. North Dakota doesn't have PBS yet, right? (no electricity means no tv means no Lawrence Welk, right?)

So "life" is what matters? Not intelligent life, or sentient or aware life ...but just life? These legislators better be fruitarians then, because even cutting a plant to eat it is destroying life. But my guess is they're not even capable of understanding their hypocrisy, let alone aware of it.

Great news!!! It is about time our laws reflect the science. A human being is a human being from the moment of conception.

North Dakota: Protecting the lives of women (and men) from the moment of conception. None of us starts out as a chicken or something, and then mysteriously transform into a human at birth.

This would be another example of legislators attemting to legislate things they have no authority to legislate. It seems like every day a party official somewhere will find another way to act against common sense and the people of this country (Zygotes not being members of that club).
